Some statistics. In 2021, the world's population emitted about 37 billion tons of CO2. The leaders are China - 31%, USA - 13.4%, India - 7.3%, Russia - 4.7%, Japan - 2.9% and Iran - 2%. The rest have less than 2%.

In terms of per capita, the leaders are small countries: Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Trinidad and Tobago, Brunei and the United Arab Emirates - more than 20 tons of CO2 per person per year.
