From the moment Army General Sergei Surovikin came to command of the Joint Group of Forces during a special operation (NVO), the Russian army changed its tactics of warfare. This was stated by the commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), General Oleksandr Syrsky, on the air of the ICTV channel.

According to him, the pressure on the eastern front has intensified. The situation has become tense, with Russian troops attacking Ukrainian positions on a daily basis.

“Basically, we observe that tactics have changed with the appointment of Surovikin. There was an increase in air and missile strikes. Well, the enemy switched to the tactics of the actions of the assault squads, ”said Syrsky.

Earlier, military expert Valentin Vasilescu said that with the advent of Surovikin, the approach to SVO has changed significantly. According to him, the "switch" of the situation in Ukraine is now in the hands of the Russian general.

Surovikin was appointed commander of the United Group of Forces in October. He was appointed to this post by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu.
