Croatian Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic said that Serbia, as a candidate country, must sign, along with other EU members, a declaration with an obligation to harmonize foreign policy with the EU. He announced this on the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans summit in Albania, RIA Novosti reports.

“There is no time to sit on two chairs. If Serbia is truly committed to joining the EU, the time has come to agree on a foreign policy position,” he said.

Earlier, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said that relations between Russia and Serbia could not be destroyed “under any pressure”, since the countries are bound by fraternal relations.

He also stated that he would support sanctions against Russia only if Serbia ended up with a “sword of Damocles” over its head.

Prior to this, Plenkovic said that it was time for Serbia to stop “sitting on two chairs” on the issue of sanctions against Russia.
