The city council of Dnepropetrovsk decided to dismantle the monuments to the scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, the poet Alexander Pushkin and the writer Maxim Gorky. The mayor of the city Boris Filatov announced this on Telegram.

“Today, the executive committee of the Dnipro City Council independently decided to move the monuments to Pushkin, Lomonosov, Gorky and others to the territory of the Zoocontrol utility company,” he wrote.

According to the mayor, the dismantling will begin in the coming days.

Earlier, the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator was dismantled in the village of Romaniv, Lviv region in Ukraine. The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Ilya Kiva, who was deprived of his mandate, said that the names of the fighters who participated in the liberation of the settlement were written on the demolished monument.

On December 1, a monument to the Soviet writer Nikolai Ostrovsky was demolished in the Khmelnytsky region. On the published footage, you can see the work of a truck crane, with the help of which the monument is dismantled in parts, and also that the bust of the poet, wrapped in cables, is placed on the ground.
