The governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov checked the progress of the construction of defensive structures in the territories bordering Ukraine. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“Today I drove along with the supervising deputy Vladimir Vasilyevich Bazarov and checked how the construction of the Belgorod border line was going. The work is especially important for ensuring the safety of all residents who live in the Belgorod region,” said the head of the region.

He stressed that the work is proceeding in accordance with the approved schedule.

Gladkov announced the beginning of the construction of fortification structures in October. The structures are concrete tetrahedrons used as anti-tank barriers.

The creator of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, also announced the creation of a "people's militia" in the region.

Until December 21, a "yellow" level of terrorist threat was introduced in the region. It has been extended several times before.

The authorities of the region have repeatedly reported that settlements bordering Ukraine are being shelled by the Ukrainian side.
