The representative of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Arkadiusz Mularczyk, suggested "believing in a miracle" on the issue of reparations from Germany. He announced this at a briefing, TASS reports.

“We need to believe in a miracle and that this issue will be resolved through dialogue, through negotiations,” he said.

We are talking about the damage caused by Germany to Poland during the Second World War. According to the Polish authorities, Germany should pay $1.3-1.5 trillion to Warsaw.

The German authorities, in turn, believe that they are not obliged to pay this amount, since in 1953 Poland officially refused reparations.

Earlier, Poland decided to send notes to 50 countries of the European Union, the North Atlantic Alliance and the Council of Europe explaining the reasons and grounds for demanding compensation from Germany for damage caused during the Second World War.

A Polish diplomat led a team of experts who are compiling a report on the country's wartime losses.

The exact number of countries where notes on compensation were sent from Warsaw is not given.

The diplomat also said that Poland has not yet received a response to the note sent on the relevant issue in early October to the German Foreign Ministry.
