Iran has proposed to freeze the bank accounts of women who are caught wearing the hijab improperly or not. This was reported by the Iranian newspaper Donya-e-Eqtesad with reference to the statement of the deputy of the Iranian parliament and member of the commission of the Islamic Council of Iran on Culture Hossein Jalali.

The parliamentarian is sure that such a measure will help stop the protests in the country, and Iranian women will start wearing the hijab correctly.

Jalali believes that there is no need to resort to arrests in case of violation of the rules for wearing the hijab. The parliamentarian suggested issuing a written warning to violators, and in case of a repeated violation, already blocking their bank accounts.

Earlier, the Iranian authorities abolished the country's morality police. The decision was made after more than two months of protests in the country. Mass riots began after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who was detained in Tehran by the morality police for wearing the hijab incorrectly. She died a few days after her arrest.

The Iranian parliament has formed a separate council for culture, which will study the issue of mandatory wearing of the hijab.
