Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko said that Russia has not closed itself off from anyone, despite "global turbulence." It is reported by TASS.

“The Third Eurasian Women's Forum took place just over a year ago. The term is short, of course. However, during this time, the international political situation has changed radically...,” Matviyenko said.

As Matvienko added, Russia has not fenced off, despite the changed attitude towards it.

“Russia, despite all external challenges, is, as before, committed to an equal partnership based on mutual respect,” Matvienko concluded.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
