Vilnius considers Budapest's refusal to participate in the collective financial assistance of the European Union (EU) to Kyiv for the restoration of Ukraine to be immoral. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Finance of Lithuania Gintare Skaiste, reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic TASS.

“To some extent, it is immoral for Hungary to block aid to Ukraine and link it to issues of a different level,” the minister said in an interview with reporters.

Earlier it was reported that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban spoke out against supporting Ukraine through a joint EU loan. According to him, in this case, the EU may turn into a community of "debtor states". Instead, Orban proposed that each country of the union should provide assistance to Kyiv on the basis of bilateral agreements.

In mid-November, the Hungarian prime minister announced that Budapest, under such an agreement, was ready to allocate 60-70 billion forints (152-178 million dollars) to Ukraine every year. Such spending, according to Orban, will not cause fundamental damage to the national interests of Hungary.
