Apple has gained about a third of the global headphone market. This is reported in the current report of Canalys.

In the third quarter of 2022, Apple maintained its lead with 30.9 percent of the market, according to the research firm. The company topped the ranking thanks to the successful sales of AirPods. During the specified period, the US IT giant shipped 23.9 million devices.

In second place was Samsung, whose share reached 9.6 percent — the company sold 7.4 million devices. The third position with a share of 4.1 percent was occupied by boAt. It is noted that for the year Apple sold 34 percent more devices than a year earlier. Samsung's global shipments fell 15 percent over the period.

The firm's analysts estimate that the global market for smart personal audio systems experienced a second consecutive decline, with shipments down 4 percent to 113.6 million units. At the same time, the category of wireless headphones was the only one in which growth was observed - by 6 percent year on year, to 76.9 million units.

Earlier, the head of the Center for Digital Expertise of Roskachestvo, Sergei Bodrov, described the likelihood of an explosion of wireless headphones. According to Bodrov, the explosion of the headset can happen due to manufacturing defects, aging, overheating, opening or mechanical damage.
