Prices for games for Xbox consoles will rise from 2023. It is reported by the publication IGN.

In a conversation with media journalists, Microsoft representatives announced an increase in the price of flagship titles on the Xbox platform. The changes will affect several games in development for the Xbox Series consoles, including Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Starfield.

Judging by the message, the minimum cost of titles will reach 69.99 dollars, or about 4.2 thousand rubles. "The new price reflects the content, scale and technical complexity of these games," a spokesman for the company said. Xbox has clarified that the titles - like all games developed for the consoles of the line - will be available to users of the Game Pass subscription.

Journalists noted that the increase in the cost of games does not raise questions - earlier, the head of the Microsoft gaming division, Phil Spencer, emphasized that the company would not be able to maintain affordable prices for its products forever. “I do think that at some point we will have to raise the prices of some titles,” Spencer emphasized in October.

The authors of the media noted that earlier Sony, Ubisoft and Take-Two Interactive also raised the prices of some games - from $60 to $70.

In October, the leaders of the Steam site raised the regional prices of the games available on the site. On average, prices in the Russian version of Steam increased by 75 percent.
