Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian authorities are taking the necessary measures to ensure security in connection with the strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian territory.

“Certainly, the openly declared line of the Ukrainian regime to continue such terrorist acts is a danger factor. Of course, it is taken into account, and the necessary measures are being taken, ”Peskov told reporters.

Earlier, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, said that a Ukrainian drone attacked the area of the Kursk airfield. According to him, as a result of the drone attack, the oil reservoir caught fire.

On December 6, Russia's Vladimir Putin convened a meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council to discuss ensuring Russia's internal security.

The meeting is held behind closed doors, and journalists cannot attend. It was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and others.
