Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow is not commenting on the possibility of a new meeting between the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin and the head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William Burns. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“This is a closed format. I have neither the opportunity nor the grounds to comment on anything in this regard, ”Ryabkov said.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States insisted on the confidentiality of the communication channel between Burns and Naryshkin. However, despite the request of the American side, there was a leak.

Prior to this, Naryshkin reported that he met with Burns to discuss nuclear security and the situation in Ukraine.

On November 30, Ryabkov claimed that the statements of American sources about the topics discussed at the meeting of the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service and the head of the CIA in Ankara do not coincide with the information of the Russian side.
