Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov believes that there is a positive trend in the issue of ensuring the security zone around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, but Moscow calls for the inclusion of control over the Ukrainian shelling to stop in these parameters. He called this condition during an interview in the State Duma, TASS writes.

“In cooperation with Rosatom and other relevant departments, we continue to stay in contact with the IAEA Secretariat. I think that there is a positive trend in this issue. We work with a certain perspective,” he stressed.

On December 2, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that both Kyiv and Moscow had agreed not to shell the power plant or fire from its territory. Nevertheless, until such an agreement is signed, perhaps Grossi will discuss this issue with the presidents of the two countries.
