Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Ilya Kiva, said that the largest Trypilska thermal power plant (TPP) in the Kyiv region was hit as a result of strikes. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.

“Yesterday’s Russian missiles managed to hit the Trypilska thermal power plant, the most powerful power plant in the Kyiv region,” he says. The former deputy noted that the TPP is the largest supplier of electricity to the Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions. According to Kiva, specialists are now assessing the possibility of restoration and the degree of damage to the Trypilska TPP.

Earlier, the head of the board of the national energy company (NEC) Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky said that electricity production in Ukraine could be restored within one to two days. He named the most affected regions, among which was the Odessa region. According to Kudritsky, voltage is supplied through backup power circuits.
