A writer for the Chinese newspaper Global Times said the United States is losing allies' trust by manipulating the Ukrainian crisis to gain a competitive advantage. This is reported in the material on the website of the publication.

“During the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Washington is constantly calling on Europe to put pressure on Russia, while at the same time provoking fierce competition aimed at weakening the European economy. As a result, the credibility of the United States by its allies and the international community continues to crumble, as does its hegemony masquerading as a "rules-based international order," the article says.

The author believes that the international order must be built on the UN Charter, and its goal should be to build a community with a common future, and not based "on the jurisdiction of Washington."

Earlier, the Global Times reported that US intervention in the conflict in Ukraine and Washington's desire to extract the maximum benefit from it demonstrated the need to defeat American hegemony.

Prior to this, retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that American hegemony in the world is in decline. According to him, the "era of supremacy" of the United States is over.

Prior to this, the journalists of the American edition of The Intercept expressed the opinion that the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine marked the emergence of a truly post-American world.
