The U.S. 2022 Military and Security Development Report "distorts China's national defense policy and military strategy" and constitutes "gross interference" in China's affairs over Taiwan, a Defense Department spokesman said.

“This is an old trick to exaggerate and inflate the so-called Chinese military threat. The Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and strongly protests in this regard, and has already made a strict introduction to the American side,” he said.

Earlier it was reported that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at The Wall Street Journal WSJ CEO Summit that the US is in intense competition with China, but does not want conflict with this country.
