Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Oleinik named the goal of creating the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper. According to him, this was done for the political control of officials and collecting dirt on them.

Oleinik drew attention to the fact that the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court deals only with serious officials, but in five years it has not issued a single verdict. “And the anti-corruption systems themselves suffer from what they are fighting,” he stated.
