Borrell proposed to postpone the discussion of security guarantees for Russia

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, during a speech at a symposium organized by the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris, said that, in his opinion, the issue of providing security guarantees for Ukraine, and later for Russia, should be dealt with first. It is reported by AFP.

According to him, the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict should be implemented in accordance with international legal norms and by providing security guarantees to Ukraine.

“As for (security guarantees) for Russia, we will talk about that later,” Borrell said.

The head of EU diplomacy added that Ukraine's chances of joining the European Union increase with the growth of destruction in the country.
