US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the United States is focused on helping Ukraine regain territories that Russia has occupied since the start of the special military operation. He made the announcement at The Wall Street Journal's WSJ CEO Summit.

“Our focus is to continue the current actions to provide Ukraine with the necessary to protect ... the return of the territory that has been occupied since February 24,” the diplomat said.

He also pointed out that in addition to military support, Kyiv also needs economic and humanitarian assistance.

Currently, a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. It was announced on February 24 by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denazify its authorities.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
