Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban backed French President Emmanuel Macron's statement on the conflict in Ukraine. He wrote about this on his Twitter.

According to the head of the Hungarian Cabinet, the French leader is "right" that the cost of this conflict "is not the same on different sides of the Atlantic."

“If we want European industry to survive, we must resolve the energy crisis quickly,” he said.

Orban also indicated that it was time to "rethink the sanctions."

Earlier, Macron said that Europe and the United States are taking part in the Ukrainian conflict "in the name of the same principles." At the same time, the price they pay is not the same on both sides of the Atlantic, the politician noted.

Prior to this, Macron said that the prospect of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine exists, but this is possible only on the terms of Kyiv.

Currently, a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. It was announced on February 24 by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denazify its authorities.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
