Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov said in an interview with RT Arabic that Moscow considers the policy of the Arab countries to be balanced in relation to the crisis in Ukraine.

According to the deputy minister, "from the very beginning" the Arab states "took a balanced approach" to the situation in Ukraine, and this applies to both statements or closed meetings, and documents.

“Among them is the final document of the meeting of the League of Arab States (League of Arab States. - Gazeta.Ru) in Cairo at the level of foreign ministers,” he said.

The diplomat also pointed out that the Russian Federation "appreciates such a balanced position."

Earlier, the leaders of the Arab countries declared their adherence to the principle of neutrality and the all-Arab position on the conflict in Ukraine. This is stated in the statement of the Arab League summit in Algiers, which was held from 1 to 2 November.

Currently, a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. It was announced on February 24 by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denazify its authorities.

The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
