The State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine has calculated the damage to the country's land fund since the beginning of the special operation (SVO). The corresponding message was published on the department's website.

“Because of the war, hundreds of hectares of Ukraine’s land fund are littered with waste, polluted with harmful substances that are released as a result of detonation and damage to the structure of the soil cover,” the State Environmental Inspectorate said. They calculated that at the end of November the amount of damage was 448.9 billion hryvnia.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, 20 percent of Ukraine's agricultural lands were severely degraded even before the start of the NWO.
