Putin Included Eight New Heads of Regions in the Updated State Council

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on updating the composition of the State Council of the country, which includes eight new heads of regions in the council. The document is published on the portal of legal information.

By decree, the council includes the governors of Vladimir, Kirov, Ryazan, Saratov, Tomsk, Yaroslavl regions, as well as the head of the Tambov region and the Republic of Mari El. All of them were elected to their posts in the last elections.

In addition to them, the head of the city district of Samara and the head of the city of Belogorsk in the Amur Region are included in the State Council.

The document also excludes the head of the Uzlovsky district of the Tula region and the head of Tyumen from the council.

The State Council of the Russian Federation is a constitutional state body formed by the president. It was created in order to ensure the coordinated functioning and interaction of bodies that are part of a single system of public authority, to determine the main directions of the country's domestic and foreign policy and priority areas for the socio-economic development of the state.

By decision of the president, representatives of political parties that have factions in the State Duma, representatives of local governments and other persons may be included in its composition.
