The transfer of control over the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by Russia to a third party "is out of the question." This was stated to RIA Novosti by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“There can be no question of any withdrawal of the Zaporizhzhya NPP from Russian control or transfer of control over it to some third party,” Zakharova emphasized, recalling that now the station “is located on Russian territory and is fully controlled by Russia.”

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry explained that the Russian side proceeds from the fact that "only we are able to ensure the physical and nuclear security of ZNPP."

Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi said earlier that the withdrawal of weapons from the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant will be part of an agreement between Kyiv and Moscow with the agency. French President Macron also wants to help in the negotiation process. He stated that he intended to phone his Russian colleague about this. Earlier, the head of Rosatom, Likhachev, noted that for security reasons, Russia would not withdraw the military guarding the ZNPP.
