The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow is aware of the desire of the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, to visit Russia, and the MFA is determined to receive him to discuss issues. She stated this to RIA Novosti.

“We are aware of Grossi's desire to visit Russia again, and we are determined to receive him to discuss a wide range of issues related to the activities of the IAEA,” Zakharova said.

At the moment, there are no specific agreements on the timing of the visit of the head of the IAEA to Russia, the representative of the Foreign Ministry emphasized.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow continues contacts with the IAEA on the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Prior to this, Rafael Grossi stated that the IAEA, in its work at the ZNPP, is aimed at preventing "a nuclear accident, and not at creating a militarily favorable situation for one side or the other." He also expressed hope that a solution to the difficult situation at the station could be found by the end of this year.
