The Meshchansky Court of Moscow is to announce the verdict on the former municipal deputy Ilya Yashin (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) on December 7. It is reported by TASS with reference to the court.

“The announcement of the verdict to Yashin I.V. is scheduled for December 7, 2022 at 12:00 Moscow time,” the court said.

During the debate, the prosecution asked for 9 years in a penal colony for Yashin in the case of spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces. The investigation believes that Yashin, being a deputy of the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow, during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel, reported false information about the killings of civilians allegedly committed by Russian soldiers in Bucha.

The prosecutor also asked to restrict Yashin for four years in the ability to publish posts on the Internet. The accused was arrested at the end of June. The ex-deputy himself considers himself innocent.

On December 2, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow dismissed Yashin's claim against the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation with a demand to cancel the decision to include him in the register of foreign media agents. Yashin's defense insisted that he did not receive "a single penny" from Ukraine, which is named as a source of funding for the former politician's activities.
