The Turkish authorities are going to submit a draft amendment to the country's basic law for consideration by the country's legislature, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Daily Sabah reports. According to him, this concerns the proposals that Ankara announced even before the May general elections.

“We will once again submit to the parliament our proposal to amend the constitution, which we updated before the elections,” Erdogan explained.

As the President of Turkey pointed out, the new government of the country is going to implement two concepts as part of its work. He also added that one concerns stability in the country, and the other security.

“We will build a century of Turkey with stability and security,” Erdogan stressed.

Earlier, Erdogan said that the development of a new constitution for Turkey is one of the main tasks. According to him, the state needs to "free itself from the legacy" of the coup.
