White House National Security Council strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said during a briefing that the US administration has enough funds to continue providing assistance to Kiev until the fall of this year, RIA Novosti reports.

“We have enough funding to support Ukraine and its operations on the battlefield until the end of the current financial year (ends in the fall. - Gazeta.Ru),” he said.

If the administration needs additional funding, Kirby said it will seek it from the United States Congress.

“This will be done at the right time, but at this stage there is no such need,” he said.

Earlier, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Kevin McCarthy said that any additional assistance to Ukraine should be included in the Pentagon's budget for 2024, agreed within the framework of the bill signed by President Joe Biden to raise the US national debt ceiling.

On May 31, John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, announced that the United States would provide Ukraine with a new military assistance package, which would include, in particular, ammunition for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.

Prior to this, US Deputy Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl said that the country's resources used to provide military assistance to Ukraine are "extraordinary", but they are limited.
