Activist extradited by Russia sentenced in Belarus

A court in Minsk has sentenced 25-year-old activist Yana Pinchuk, extradited by Russia and accused of inciting social hatred. This is reported by the website of the Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus.

“For the totality of crimes, a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 12 years with serving in a correctional colony under the general regime with a fine of 100 basic units (over $ 1,260 - note by Lenta.ru) was imposed,” the department noted.

Pinchuk was arrested in St. Petersburg in November 2021. She was accused of committing crimes under the articles “Incitement of racial, national, religious or other social hatred or discord” and “Creation of an extremist formation, or participation in it” of the Criminal Code of Belarus.

It was reported that the girl was the administrator of the Telegram channel, in which she published messages with a negative assessment of representatives of law enforcement agencies, as well as "other groups of people united by other social characteristics."
