The German authorities should maintain a dialogue with Russia, especially against the backdrop of the conflict in Ukraine, says German MEP Gunnar Beck, TASS reports. According to him, Berlin and Moscow are connected, in particular, by economic interests.

“Especially now during this conflict [in Ukraine], it is extremely important to remain in dialogue with each other. It cannot be overlooked. We are bound by common interests, primarily by common interests in preventing further escalation of this conflict,” Beck said after meeting with the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky.

In turn, the head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia in his Telegram channel called the MEP from the German right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party an honest politician. He pointed out that Back came to Russia despite the Russophobia in Western states.

“The topic of Ukraine was discussed in particular detail. For his part, he spoke about the reasons that prompted Russia to start the NWO, and the disruption by the Ukrainian side, on orders from across the ocean, of the peaceful negotiation process. We agreed to continue contacts and, possibly, create a special inter-parliamentary and inter-party format for this. From the German side, it could include representatives of the AfD, from the Russian side, members of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, ”Slutsky emphasized.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he was planning a new telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
