President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said he expects to receive security guarantees for Ukraine at the NATO summit in Vilnius. He announced this at a briefing, the Suspilne TV channel reports.

“We need it on paper so that one of the leaders does not start a narrative regarding the fact that the public is getting tired, the economy is getting tired, we cannot give the appropriate volumes. Therefore, we need guarantees on paper,” he said.

Earlier, Zelensky convened an emergency meeting of the country's National Security Council in connection with the destruction at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station (Kherson region).

The head of the administration of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, warned that due to the breakthrough of the dam, difficulties could arise with the delivery of clean water to Crimea. At the same time, he stated that the most terrible possible outcome in connection with the destruction at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station had passed.

Zelensky accused the Russian side of destroying the hydroelectric power plant.
