The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and called on the international community to condemn the relevant actions of the Ukrainian side. This is stated on the website of the ministry.

We call on the world community to condemn the criminal acts of the Ukrainian authorities, which are of an increasingly inhuman nature and pose a serious threat to regional and global security.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference that as a result of a breakthrough at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, problems with drinking water are expected in three regions of the country. According to the head of state, from 35 to 80 settlements will be flooded as a result of the accident.

On the night of June 6, in the Kherson region, the upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed near Novaya Kakhovka. Dozens of settlements, including Kherson and New Kakhovka, began to be flooded with water.
