The authorities of Ukraine, together with Western states, accused Russia with particular cynicism of undermining the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir, said Volodymyr Dzhabarov, First Deputy Head of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs. In his Telegram channel, he noted that this makes no sense.

“There is a simple question: What is the point for Russia to blow up the dam? Kherson region de jure territory of Russia. By committing a terrorist attack [at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station], the Ukrainian authorities de facto recognized the Kherson region as part of Russia,” Dzhabarov wrote.

Information about the partial destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station appeared on the night of June 6. As noted, as a result of the emergency, many settlements were under the threat of flooding. At the same time, Kherson and Novaya Kakhovka are among the cities that began to be flooded.

Earlier it was reported that the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, drew the attention of the world community to the prompt reaction of Western states to the situation around the Kakhovskaya HPP and their annual silence on sabotage on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.
