The administration of US President Joe Biden is concerned about reports of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, Reuters reports citing a source.

According to him, Washington is trying to find out the potential consequences of the incident.

Earlier it was reported that half of the spans of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station (HPP) had been destroyed.

At the same time, it is noted that the collapse of the spans of the hydroelectric power station continues.

At the same time, the Ukrhydroenergo company reported that the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station cannot be restored, as it has been completely destroyed.

Prior to this, TASS, citing a representative of the emergency services of the Kherson region, reported that the attack on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, which led to the destruction of the valves and the discharge of water downstream, according to the initial information, was delivered from the Alder multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of undermining the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, convened an emergency meeting of the National Security Council.
