In Lviv, a farewell ceremony will be held for Maidan activist and fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Ruslan Levko with the call sign Bandera, eliminated during a special military operation (SVO). The Lviv City Council reports this on its website.

The servicemen will be bid farewell to the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The mayor's office asked Lviv residents and guests of the city to refrain from recreational activities and holidays.

Levko took part in the 2014 Maidan, fought in the east of the country against the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, and received awards from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Earlier in Ukraine, it was proposed to create a state award in honor of the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN, an extremist organization banned in Russia) Stepan Bandera. The petition appeared on the website of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
