Acting Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo said on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel that a decision on the methods for restoring the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station would be made in the coming days after an assessment of the damage.

“As soon as we see the final results of the destruction that exists at the Kakhovskaya HPP, a decision will be made on how and with what technologies it will be restored. What is needed for this will be decided in the coming days,” he said.

Earlier, Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that allegations about the involvement of the Russian forces in the situation around the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station are contrary to common sense.

On the night of June 6, in the Kherson region, the upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed near Novaya Kakhovka. Dozens of settlements, including Kherson and New Kakhovka, began to be flooded with water.

Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of destroying the dam. There is also a version that the accident occurred due to "old damage".
