Finland decided to expel from the country nine people who worked at the Russian Embassy in Helsinki and allegedly performed intelligence functions. This decision was made at a joint meeting of the President of Finland and the Committee on Foreign and Security Policy of the country's government. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the Finnish government office.

“Finland will expel from the country nine people who worked in the Russian embassy and performed intelligence functions. Their actions are a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” the statement said.

As indicated in the office, the MIF of Finland will inform the Russian ambassador in Helsinki about this.

Earlier, the Office of the President of Finland said that two employees of the Russian Embassy were expelled from the country, and one was denied a visa.
