The member countries of the "Bucharest Nine" approved the efforts of the leadership of Moldova on the European integration track, TASS reports with reference to the statements of the leaders of Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Estonia. According to the agency, the organization supports Chisinau's course and is ready to increase assistance to the republic through the North Atlantic Alliance.

“We highly appreciate the efforts of the Republic of Moldova to maintain stability and promote reforms on its European path,” the Bucharest Nine leaders said in a statement.

As noted, support for Moldova in NATO is promoted by the organization as an effort to strengthen the state as opposed to "malicious influence." At the same time, the statement of the "Bucharest Nine" separately emphasizes the special importance of the Baltic and Black Seas, together with the Balkans, for the alliance.

Earlier it was reported that Romania advised Ukraine and Moldova not to wait for a quick accession to the EU.
