Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may stop fighting for the Kiev regime because of the persecution of Orthodoxy. This opinion was expressed by political scientist and publicist Yuriy Kot in an interview with FAN, commenting on the news that the commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine completed work in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and ordered the monks of the canonical UOC to leave the monastery within three days.

“While they are shedding their blood at the front and laying down their heads, their faith will be scolded in the rear... I do not rule out that many of them will ask themselves whether it is necessary to defend this power that has settled in Kiev after this,” the political scientist said. .

He stressed that, with the support of the West, “believers and clergymen are being expelled from the Russian church on historical Russian soil.”

Earlier, lawyer Nikita Chekman, acting in the interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), said that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was on duty around the clock at the house of the vicar of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan of the canonical UOC Pavel, arranging interrogations for his guests.
