Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili explained why he and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not say hello at the European Political Community summit in Chisinau. He spoke about this when answering questions from journalists, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of the Georgian government said that he did not see anything strange in this, pointing out that a smaller part of the heads of state who arrived there saw the Ukrainian leader at the summit.

“It's all very simple. When I look at you, journalists, and what is happening in the media and in the degraded opposition, I find it funny. There was nothing special. The leaders of 45 countries were there, and maybe five or six, maybe a maximum of 10, saw Zelensky. There was no queue to shake hands with Zelensky,” the prime minister explained.

Asked what he would personally say to Zelensky, Garibashvili said he would "simply say hello and wish Ukraine an end to the war, territorial integrity and peace."

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Georgia said that the expansion of NATO and the desire of Kyiv to join the alliance were one of the main reasons for the start of the conflict in Ukraine.
