Ankara can, from a principled standpoint, assess Stockholm's progress in fulfilling Turkey's demands for Sweden's entry into NATO at a meeting with representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance and the kingdom, which is scheduled for June 12. The newspaper Sabah writes about it.

As indicated in the publication of the publication, this meeting is extremely important from the point of view of further resolving the issue of approval by the Turkish side of Sweden's application.

On June 4, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Sweden had fulfilled Turkey's conditions for joining the North Atlantic Alliance.

On June 1, TASS, citing a source in Ankara, reported that the Turkish government may consider Sweden's application to join NATO within a month before the alliance's summit in Vilnius, which will be held in July 2023. According to the agency, Turkey's main demand was fulfilled - the Swedish government adopted amendments to anti-terrorism legislation.

At the end of May, Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström said that the Swedish authorities were counting on joining the North Atlantic Alliance in the near future. According to him, Stockholm has fulfilled all the requirements, including those of the Turkish side, necessary for joining NATO.
