EU representatives express concern about the decrease in support for Ukrainian refugees in the EU. It is reported by Associated Press with reference to the report of EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson.

The document notes that support for Ukrainian refugees remains unchanged, but “solidarity fatigue” is beginning to appear in some EU countries.

“The cost of living crisis has hit low- and middle-income families in host societies,” EU Special Adviser for Ukraine Lodewijk Asher said in the report. He stressed that "the discussion about refugees can be used as a weapon to sow division in the EU." Some of the 27 EU member states have already reported new disinformation campaigns targeting the problem, he said.

In doing so, the report emphasizes that "solidarity is alive and well, but there is weariness, especially among the most vulnerable refugees, as well as among the most vulnerable of the host societies." The authors of the report note that Ukrainian refugees are torn between their host country and home, which complicates “the decision to start learning a new language or integrate children into the education system of the host country.” European companies are also hesitant to invest in refugees, as they could leave at any moment.

Earlier, the European Union offered member countries to pay Ukrainian refugees to motivate them to return to their homeland.

According to a survey by the European Union (EU) Agency for Fundamental Rights (FR), every third Ukrainian who left the country wants to return to his homeland.

In February, Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Reznikov acknowledged that US residents were tired of what was happening around the country.
