The German authorities should block a possible tightening of EU migration legislation in the area of asylum, said the human rights organization Amnesty International, Deutsche Welle reports (the organization is included in the list of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice). According to activists, if the migration reform is approved at the EU level, the taboo in the field of human rights will be broken.

As noted, human rights activists suspect Berlin of being ready to go to the "complete emasculation" of the European refugee law, since the reform project involves checking the right to asylum at the borders of the European Union or in third countries. Moreover, the EU is going to consider creating a list of safe countries of origin, which will also affect the granting of asylum.

“More than 60 human rights organizations are calling on the German federal government to vote against the introduction of mandatory border procedures and against the expansion of the concept of “safe third countries,” the text emphasizes.

Earlier it was reported that German Interior Minister Nancy Feser called for tougher asylum procedures in the European Union.
