US Marine Corps (MCC) helicopters will begin receiving long-range loitering kamikaze drones to replace some of the Hellfire missiles that have been in use for decades. It is reported by Defense News.

The publication assures that this will allow the USMC to prepare for future battles with China and other potential adversaries.

According to General Stephen Lightfoot, Hellfire's eight kilometers of range is not enough for the Indo-Pacific region. The military is confident that promising networked drones can have a flight range of hundreds of kilometers, and, in addition to helicopters, will be launched from ground installations.
