Kiev's accusations of Russia in the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station and the resulting risks for the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant are just an additional reason for putting pressure on Moscow, since the nuclear power plant is designed for such emergencies. This was stated in an interview with RIAMO by a political scientist, a member of the Digoria Expert Club Evgeny Kislyakov, commenting on the words of the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi about the drop in the water level for cooling the ZNPP.

“From the point of view of political risks, for Ukraine this is another reason to stir up a scandal, to accuse Russia of organizing ecocide and destabilizing the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant due to the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. It is not for nothing that the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, began in the morning to distribute apocalyptic forecasts about the water level and its need for the operation of the station, ”Kislyakov said.

He noted that the hydroelectric power station was not completely destroyed - the "body" of the dam is still intact. According to him, there is also nothing critical for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, since the defensive lines are further from the proposed flood zone.

On the night of June 6, the upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed in the Kherson region. Dozens of settlements, including Kherson and New Kakhovka, began to be flooded with water. Details - in the material "Gazety.Ru".
