The Swiss People's Party, which advocates strict observance of neutrality by Switzerland, made an attempt to prevent Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from holding a speech via video link in the country's parliament, 58 deputies opposed. This was reported by the press service of the Parliament on the official website.

Zelensky's speech was planned for next week - June 15.

The SNP raised the issue of Zelensky's remote speech in the National Council. Nevertheless, the majority of votes supported Zelensky's plans to appeal to Swiss politicians.

The National Council rejected by 128 votes to 58 an attempt by the SNP to reconsider this decision.

The upcoming video speech by the President of Ukraine was announced on Monday, June 5, by the chairmen of the two chambers of parliament.
