The destruction of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station does not pose a direct threat to the country's electricity supply, according to the website of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

“The explosion ... did not have a direct impact on the situation in the country's energy system. There are no threats to the stability of power supply,” the statement says.

According to the ministry, the electricity produced is sufficient to cover the needs of consumers.

On the night of June 6, in the Kherson region, the upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed near Novaya Kakhovka. Dozens of settlements, including Kherson and New Kakhovka, began to be flooded with water.
