The US State Department announced its intention to allocate up to $1.9 million for a project that, among other things, involves "fighting Russian disinformation" in a number of countries in Europe and Central Asia, RT reports citing a description of the grant. In particular, we are talking about Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Serbia, Moldova and other states.

“The first and main element of it is regionally focused, including the development of a curriculum and the provision of content to counter Russian and other disinformation efforts in Europe and Central Asia through [activities] of American Spaces in certain countries,” the document specifies.

It is clarified that the second element of the program is to strengthen the networks of "American Spaces" throughout the planet. The age of the main audience can vary from 18 to 50 years.

Earlier, the US State Department announced plans to allocate up to $100,000 for the training of Ukrainian-speaking journalists. The department clarified that the main goal of the program is to combat “disinformation” regarding the United States and democracy, as well as support “high-quality and independent” journalism.
