About 300 houses in Korsunk and Dnepryan, located below Novaya Kakhovka, were in the zone of possible flooding after the breakthrough of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station (HPP), said the head of the city administration Vladimir Leontiev. About it writes RIA Novosti.

According to the mayor of Nova Kakhovka, the authorities are now taking all measures in case of temporary evacuation of people. “About 300 downstream houses in Dnepryany and Korsunka can get into the flood zone,” he stressed. Leontiev clarified that the upper part of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed. The rise of water in the city is from 2.5 to 4 meters.

Earlier, the authorities of Novaya Kakhovka confirmed that the attacks on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station led to the destruction of the valves.
